Bradford Man Sentenced on Aggravated Assault

(SMETHPORT, Pennsylvania/January 12, 2023):  District Attorney Stephanie L. Vettenburg-Shaffer reports that Armando Aponte, of Bradford, was sentenced to a period of incarceration for Aggravated Assault and Terroristic Threats against a woman during a sentencing hearing held today at the McKean County Courthouse.

On January 25, 2022, Bradford City Police were dispatched to the Bradford Regional Medical Center for a report of an assault on a female.  The injuries to the woman required she be sent to an out-of-area medical center for treatment.  Aponte was identified as the perpetrator.

Bradford Officer Kolin Strawcutter investigated the case. 

The Judge sentenced Aponte to state prison for a period of 90 months to 180 months and 2 years consecutive probation as well as necessary treatment, restitution for medical expenses due to the assault, and other terms.
