On February 12th, Bloodhound K9 “Dixie“ joined District Attorney Stephanie Vettenburg-Shaffer, handler Ruth Webb, handler Rod Johnson, and K9 trainee “Roxy“ at Kane Area Middle School’s PTO meeting as part of the organization’s First Responder Night along with area firemen and officers from Kane Boro and State Police.  Dixie is a trail dog who finds people by scent. The students were interested in hearing how the dogs were able to use their nose to find missing people.  The dogs have located missing people and tracked suspects for area law enforcement.  For more information, please call the District Attorney’s Office at (814) 887-3312.
