(SMETHPORT, Pennsylvania, September 6, 2023):  District Attorney Stephanie Vettenburg-Shaffer reports that, following a two day jury trial at the McKean County Courthouse, Dylan Lee Ashley, of Bradford, was convicted of Indecent Assault against a juvenile under the age of 16 and Indecent Exposure.

During the trial, the juvenile victim testified about Ashley bringing about the touching of the sexual or other intimate parts and exposing his penis to her when they resided in the same residence in Bradford Township between April and September, 2022. The victim was 14 at the time.  Ashley was found not guilty of other charges including Rape.   

Lt. Jeff Shade investigated the case up to the time of his death.   Following his passing, Chief Robert Shipman represented Bradford Township Police Department during the trial.

District Attorney Stephanie Vettenburg-Shaffer prosecuted the case on behalf of the Commonwealth.

Defendant Ashley was ordered to undergo a Sexual Offender Assessment Evaluation because he was convicted of a sex offense that requires sex offender registration under the law formerly known as Megan’s Law.  No sentencing date has been scheduled.
