McKean County District Attorney Stephanie L. Vettenburg-Shaffer reports that, on October 27, 2021, Pennsylvania State Police-Lewis Run arrested Kristopher David Johnson of Bradford for crimes related to a fire at a residence on West Washington Street, Corydon Township that occurred on November 9, 2020.
JOHNSON is charged with Arson (Placing Others in Danger of Death or Serious Bodily Injury) for placing firefighters at risk of death or serious injury from arson. Members of the Corydon and Bradford Township Volunteer Fire Departments responded to the scene.
JOHNSON is charged with other counts of Arson including Arson with Intent to Destroy Unoccupied Building as well as Burglary, Criminal Mischief, and other crimes.
The arrest followed the investigation by Trooper Andrew Eliason and the Pennsylvania State Police Fire Marshall Unit.
JOHNSON was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Richard Luther who set bail at $200,000. JOHNSON was remanded to the McKean County Jail. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for November 3, 2021.
JOHNSON was also charged by Trooper Matthew Batzel in an unrelated matter with Theft for an incident that occurred in 2020. Bail was set in that case at $10,000. A preliminary hearing in that case is also scheduled for November 3, 2021.
