The McKean County Sheriff’s Office has received information concerning a scam.  An individual received a call from an unknown number.  The caller stated he was from the McKean County Sheriff’s Office and at first stated he was calling about a warrant.  He then began questioning the individual concerning their name and where they previously resided.  After that he advised the individual that they had a warrant and that they could pay to take care of it.

The McKean County Sheriff’s Office will not call and ask for a payment over the phone for any reason.  If you receive a call like this do not provide any financial information.
