On October 25, 2018 at approximately 1044 hrs the City of Bradford Police Department received a complaint on station for a theft from a motor vehicle. The victim(s) advise a little after 0900 hrs they parked their vehicle in the rear parking lot of the VA medical clinic upon returning to their vehicle it was discovered an unknown actor(s) entered the unlocked vehicle and removed the a purse. That contained multiple debit/credit cards, social security cards, a black Alcatel smart phone, a black in color stun gun with a case, a pocket knife, a ring with necklace and drivers’ license. The approximate total value of items taken from the motor vehicle is $159.95.
Officers then went to Washington Outlet located at 21 Main Street, and spoke with spoke with staff and asked if anyone had been in this morning attempting to sell any of the items the victim reported stolen and they advised that no one had, the Officer requested staff call if anyone came in with the stun gun.
At approximately 1210 hrs Washington Outlet contacted the 911 center in regards to this theft. Upon arrival to the business Officers located Mathew Louser (the defendant) standing at the counter. The employee advised the defendant had just sold the stun gun to him for $5.00. He further told officers the defendant was in earlier and showed him ring he wanted to sell. The stun gun was currently sitting on the counter and was the item the victim described.
The victim(s) were contacted and subsequently identified the items recovered.
The defendant was then taken into custody and processed before being arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Dominic Cercone who set bail in the amount of $2500.00 cash
